Since joining Fintelligent six months ago, Charlotte Walker, Principal Recruiter specialising in Real Estate Finance, has made an immediate and lasting impact. With 17 years’ experience in recruitment and a clear passion for relationship-led markets, Charlotte has quickly established herself as a key part of the team.
From early successes to award-winning moments and ambitious plans for the year ahead, we caught up with Charlotte to reflect on her first six months at Fintelligent, her proudest achievements so far, and what excites her most about the future.
You’ve been with Fintelligent for six months now — how would you describe your first six months with the business?
My first six months at Fintelligent have been incredibly positive and fast-paced. From the outset, I was able to immerse myself in the real estate finance market and begin working closely with clients and candidates on live mandates almost immediately.
What stood out most was how quickly I was able to add value. Fintelligent’s collaborative approach and depth of market knowledge meant I could have informed, meaningful conversations from day one - whether advising clients on hiring strategy or supporting candidates through key career moves.
While I joined the business with a strong foundation in recruitment and real estate finance, being surrounded by specialists with deep sector expertise has significantly strengthened my understanding of the market. That exposure has allowed me to deliver with greater confidence, insight, and precision.
Securing my first placement within four weeks was a great early milestone and reflected the strength of the relationships, market insight, and delivery standards that Fintelligent is known for.
What has been your biggest achievement or proudest moment since joining Fintelligent?
At our annual recruiter awards in December, I was honoured to receive three awards: Best Newcomer, Best Client Win of the Year, and The Recruiter’s Recruiter - the latter of which I was nominated for by my colleagues at Fintelligent.
I am deeply passionate about the work I do and consistently strive to deliver at a high level, so being recognised by my new employer and team was a truly standout and proud moment in my career. To receive that level of acknowledgement so early on reaffirmed that I made the right decision joining the business and motivates me to continue raising the bar in everything I do.
How would you describe the market you work in, and what have you learned about it over the past six months?
I have worked across a variety of markets during my 17 years in the recruitment sector, and while each has been interesting, I moved into real estate finance in early 2023 and quickly realised it was the area I am most passionate about.
It is a highly relationship-driven market. Both candidates and clients place significant importance on building and maintaining relationships in their own roles, which means they recognise the value of accessibility, trust, and open communication. As a result, they are typically receptive to conversations and willing to engage.
My move to Fintelligent was a strategic decision to further develop my technical expertise within the sector. I now work alongside senior colleagues with deep market knowledge, gaining exposure not only to bridging finance but also to senior debt funds and senior-level and C-suite recruitment. This environment has been instrumental in strengthening my understanding of the market and broadening the scope of my recruitment expertise.
Looking ahead to 2026, what are your personal goals at Fintelligent and what are you most excited to work on?
I am aiming to achieve the highest billing revenue of my career this year while working towards promotion to Executive Consultant by December 2026 (Q1 is looking healthy, so I’ll keep pushing!).
To support this, I am actively building new relationships across the real estate finance market and seeking opportunities to demonstrate the high standard of delivery our team provides when given the opportunity. We have a busy year ahead, and I’m excited to continue growing my desk, strengthening client partnerships, and contributing to Fintelligent’s ongoing success.
