About the Role
Fintelligent is partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Mid-Level Associate into its established London Transactional IP team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded IP lawyer to join one of London’s largest and most active intellectual property departments, working on high-value, IP-rich transactions across a broad range of industries. The successful candidate will advise on complex, cross-border matters including M&A, joint ventures, licensing arrangements, collaborations and strategic investments.
The role offers strong exposure to transactional IP work within a collaborative, high-performing team that works closely with corporate and deal execution teams across the firm.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic IP advice in the context of complex transactions, including:
- M&A transactions
- Private equity investments
- Joint ventures and collaborations
- Licensing and IP exploitation arrangements
- Restructurings and corporate reorganisations
- Financing transactions involving IP assets
- Advise on the full range of intellectual property rights, including:
- Patents
- Trade marks
- Copyright
- Designs
- Conduct and manage IP due diligence in M&A and corporate transactions.
- Advise on IP aspects of SPAs, APAs and related transaction documentation.
- Support corporate and deal teams on IP-heavy transactions.
- Provide general IP advisory support alongside transactional work.
- Draft, review and negotiate complex IP and commercial agreements.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the IP practice.
- Support wider strategic initiatives within the firm.
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 3–5 years' PQE gained in a leading IP or transactional IP practice.
- Strong experience in IP aspects of corporate and transactional work.
- Proven track record of conducting IP due diligence in M&A transactions.
- Experience advising on IP provisions in SPAs and APAs.
- Strong technical knowledge of intellectual property law.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary deal teams.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive, client-focused approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
