Are you experienced in vehicle repair and looking to apply your technical expertise in a customer-focused insurance environment?

This is an opportunity to join an established Engineering team, using your vehicle knowledge to support accurate, fair and efficient repair, total loss and claims decisions. You’ll combine technical judgement with clear communication across customers, repairers and third parties.

Package & Benefits

• Salary of £31,500–£33,000, depending on experience.
• Average annual bonus of 4.5%, based on company performance and paid in April.

You’ll be joining a well-established UK motor and home insurer supporting over 1.4 million customers. The business combines technology, data and service to simplify insurance, while investing in its people and encouraging meaningful contribution across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, engineer and authorise vehicle repair costs in line with manufacturer repair methods and claim circumstances.
• Produce inspection reports and provide technical guidance on complex repair queries.
• Make informed total loss decisions, including vehicle valuations.
• Clearly communicate technical decisions to customers, repairers and third parties.
• Identify potential fraud indicators, vehicle modifications and opportunities to improve claims efficiency.
• Manage work effectively within agreed KPIs, quality standards and SLAs.

About You

• Experience within the vehicle repair industry, ideally across mechanical, body repair or accident repair environments.
• Strong understanding of vehicle construction, repair methodology and estimating systems.
• Comfortable making technical decisions and explaining them clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Experience resolving complex issues involving customers, repairers or claims stakeholders.
• A proactive, organised approach with a focus on quality, service and fair customer outcomes.
