About the Role
Fintelligent is partnering with a world-leading global law firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate into its thriving Private Equity practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer with strong transactional experience to join a growing team, working closely with the firm's core private equity partners on high-profile transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued expansion of the firm's upper mid-market private equity offering within a collaborative and ambitious environment.
What You'll Do
- Advise private equity fund clients and portfolio companies across a broad range of transactions, including:
- Management Buyouts (MBOs)
- Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs)
- Auction sales
- Public-to-private transactions
- Growth equity investments
- Restructurings
- Recapitalisations
- Lead private equity transactions for fund investor clients, with appropriate partner supervision.
- Draft and negotiate key transaction documents in line with current PE market practice.
- Structure and advise on management equity arrangements.
- Provide general corporate advice to portfolio companies.
- Coordinate transaction matters and workstreams, delegating to and supervising junior associates and trainees.
- Act as lead associate on certain matters and as part of larger teams on others.
- Manage transaction timelines, budgets and multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Keep partners and senior associates informed of progress and assist in monitoring matters against agreed objectives and scope.
- Support business development initiatives, including pitches, marketing activities and thought leadership.
- Contribute to the development of junior lawyers and serve as a role model within the team.
- Build a strong reputation both internally and in the wider market.
What We're Looking For
- 4–8 years' PQE with a strong focus on private equity transactions.
- Demonstrable experience advising PE funds and PE-backed companies.
- English-qualified solicitor, or a foreign-qualified lawyer whose predominant practice involves private equity transactions.
- Familiarity with key private equity drafting and market practice.
- Strong understanding of private equity fund drivers and commercial objectives.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation and project management skills.
- Proven people management and business development capabilities.
- Willingness to take responsibility for leading PE transactions at an early stage.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently.
- Strong academic credentials.
