About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer with strong transactional experience to join a growing team, working closely with the firm's core private equity partners on high-profile transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued expansion of the firm's upper mid-market private equity offering within a collaborative and ambitious environment.

What You'll Do

    • Auction sales
    • Public-to-private transactions
    • Growth equity investments
    • Restructurings

  • Lead private equity transactions for fund investor clients, with appropriate partner supervision.
  • Draft and negotiate key transaction documents in line with current PE market practice.
  • Structure and advise on management equity arrangements.
  • Provide general corporate advice to portfolio companies.
  • Coordinate transaction matters and workstreams, delegating to and supervising junior associates and trainees.
  • Act as lead associate on certain matters and as part of larger teams on others.
  • Manage transaction timelines, budgets and multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keep partners and senior associates informed of progress and assist in monitoring matters against agreed objectives and scope.
  • Support business development initiatives, including pitches, marketing activities and thought leadership.
  • Contribute to the development of junior lawyers and serve as a role model within the team.
  • Build a strong reputation both internally and in the wider market.

What We're Looking For

  • 4–8 years' PQE with a strong focus on private equity transactions.
  • Demonstrable experience advising PE funds and PE-backed companies.
  • English-qualified solicitor, or a foreign-qualified lawyer whose predominant practice involves private equity transactions.
  • Familiarity with key private equity drafting and market practice.
  • Strong understanding of private equity fund drivers and commercial objectives.
  • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Proven people management and business development capabilities.
  • Willingness to take responsibility for leading PE transactions at an early stage.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong academic credentials.
